For Spring Summer 2016 James Lakeland presents a glamorous collection designed for the strong yet sensual woman. The SS16 colour palette encompasses a mix of bold primary hues, monochrome geometric prints as well as an array of ‘sugared almond’ pastels and fresh whites.
The bright primary colours and bold geometric fabrics create statement looks empowering the female form and never failing to impact. A highlight is the red chiffon look; the scarlet colour pop of this pleated skirt with matching pussybow blouse is dramatic, its seductive silhouette further heightens the glamour.
Upholding the James Lakeland ethos of superior quality for every day as well as more glamorous occasions; the SS16 collection includes an array of contemporary white-on-white ensembles and floating chiffon numbers in dreamy pastel hues. The sugared-almond colour scheme is playful as well as wistful.
Made in Italy, each piece is masterly cut to ensure a flattering silhouette using only the highest quality fabrics; including sheer pleated chiffon, crochet lace, crepe, fine knits, cotton and geometric jacquards. The collection gives a modern take on glamour with a carefree attitude empowering the female form.
James Lakeland- The Designer
James's passion for retail began when working at his father's manufacturing business which specialised in luxury suede, leather, men's and women's wear.
Learning the importance of quality, great design, interesting details and personal service, it was this "grass roots" experience and love of fashion that encouraged James to start his own women's wear collection.
In 2000, James launched his first capsule knitwear label. This collection took shape in luxurious cashmere and wool blends in rich tonal shades. The look was effortless elegance, providing great wardrobe basics: an instant hit with a loyal customer following.
Today the James Lakeland brand is very much a family business that has expanded throughout the UK and available in key department stores and independents, recently opening in House of Fraser Oxford St London, Bath and Manchester.
